INBA bans Bodybuilder Storm de Smeth for 2 Years for Doping: Marijuana

The International Herald Tribune reports on July 22:

“The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority said Tuesday that the International Natural Bodybuilding Association had imposed a two-year doping ban on Storm De Smeth.

Bodybuilder De Smeth tested positive to presence of cannabis in an in-competition sample collected by ASADA at the Australian Physique titles held in Canberra on Oct. 27, 2007.

He had previously tested positive to the presence of cannabis in a sample collected by ASADA in October 2005 and received a warning and a fine.

“As this is his second offense for the same substance, the penalty of two years is appropriate,” ASADA chairman Richard Ings said.

De Smeth will be ineligible to compete in any sport until Oct. 27, 2009″
