New Zealander IFBB Pro Justin Rys Released from Prison
New Zealander IFBB pro bodybuilder Justin Rys has just been released from prison after serving 2 ½ years for importation of the drug ‘fantasy’.
Initially he was jailed for 10½ years which was reduced on appeal. The court was told he had a severe heart condition and a mental disorder called megarexia that meant despite his size he considered himself small.
He spent his time continuing to work out, and also gained 4 diplomas [all A grades]. He also worked out while incarcerated, using makeshift weights and other prisoners bodyweight to help. He is reported to be 122kg [270lbs] now, having lost 13.5kg [30lbs] while incarcerated.
Justin says he intends to work on his clothing line “Convict Gear” and maybe open a gym. He is quoted as having said “I wouldn’t recommend it as a holiday destination” about his time in prison.
