#1 Australian Bodybuilder Pays Gym Fees?
An interesting statement from Lee Priest - gym fees are $17.95 per week, and apparently as the top Australian bodybuilder Lee is receiving a “massive” discount of $4 a week. He also stopped in to train at a separate facility, and was charged the standard day rate there as well.
Like most world class bodybuilders, Lee is acclimatized to complimentary memberships. The practice of waiving fees is ubiquitous in the USA where he recently lived for 15 years, as well as ‘hardcore’ Aussie gyms under the premise that world class bodybuilders and athletes can be an ‘attraction’ for a gym, in addition to other factors.
Lee is presently training at a chain gym that has locations all over Australia. The strong irony presents itself that the top Australian bodybuilder receives complimentary gym passes worldwide, but is charged on his own soil.

terrible disgrace
I guess the truth is bodybuilding is not really a mainstream sport, and unless you are directly involved the average joe bloggs would’nt know Lee Priest from any other person!
Many of the main commercial gyms in OZ don’t really want bodybuilders because they intimidate other members.
Plus bodybuilders spend more time in the gym, more wear and tear on the equipment.
I think the likes of Lee would have no issues if he went to one of the more true bodybuilding gyms that recognized his status, not one of the commercial fitness centres.
