Response From Lee Priest’s Gym

We posted recently about top Aussie bodybuilder Lee Priest mentioning that he had to pay gym fees upon returning to Australia. We e-spoke John Pirlo, the Manager of Genesis Fitness and found him to be extremely courteous and professional. This is what he said:

“Genesis are a great supporters of Australian sports, sponsoring many sports people from triathletes to V8 racing car drivers, ALF and NRL players to Olympic athletes within our clubs. We also have normal people who pay for normal memberships, as part of the sponsored memberships the sports people proudly wear the Genesis logo’s on their training tops and offer promotional activities and events for us be part of.

In regards to Lee Priest he presented himself as a normal member and no such sponsorship activities or opportunities have or had been discussed in lieu of a sponsored membership, we respect Lee’s privacy to train as a normal member and as such that is the current situation.

Lee himself had made no mention whatsoever of his dissatisfaction with this which was openly discussed. We proudly support all forms of exercise and sport and hope that your bodybuilding readers understand that we are committed to this.

Lee has been nothing but nice to both staff and members and has been a pleasure to have in the club. We have attempted to be just as courteous and respectful”.
