Great show! Hard to top this for next year!
If the judges had the education behind them as a judge and the ability to judge on fair grounds, then the actual person to win second place should have been Adnan Osmanoski and not Paul Jayilian just because he trains at the gym that promotes this event. It is evident there is a physical distinctiveness between Adnan and Paul. In competitive terms, Paul has no physical definition as a body-builder in comparision to Adnan, Paul looks like a surf board!
Azira, the judging was fine…you appear to be on crack
After watching the show i have to agree with azira, the judging was not fair on adnan he was clearly better than second placed paul. hopefully in the future the judges do the right thing.
Everyone will have differing opinions, that’s bodybuilding. With Ange in the division, it’s pretty much always a competition for second place. Ange didn’t have one callout. I thought the judging was quite thorough across the board.
I watched the U80’s video again…which obviously isn’t a 100% accurate representation of the day, but it’s not bad and the vid quality is very good which is a nice change, the results for 2nd and third could have gone either way in my opinion.
I judged the show on the weekend and found some of the classes a bit tricky. The U90’s was probably the easiest class to judge as every competitor had a quality physique with very few faults. This makes the job of a judge much easier.
I found the Novice Men’s class and Classic Physique class the most difficult classes to judge as there were many different looking physiques, all with various strengths and weaknesses. This makes it hard to decide which faults should be marked lower and which strengths should be marked higher.
In the end it is up to each judge to offer their opinion. Everyone’s opinion will vary a little bit but overall I felt the results at this show were all pretty good. There were a few decsions that could’ve gone either way but nothing blatantly out of whack IMO.
As for Azira’s & Daves’s comments - they are just pure crap. Fair enough you are not happy that your mate placed third, but trust me, the judging was fair and honest. Personally I wouldn’t have a clue where either Paul or Adnan train, not that it matters to me anyway. To make the assumption that the judges gave Paul the nod because he trains at Dohertys Gym is just bullshit, none of the judges would know where every competitor trains, nor would it effect their decsion making if they did.
I took notes for my report for Hardcore Aussie Muscle and both Paul and Adnan have some faults that they need to work on. Adnan needs to work on his legs, they need more thickness to complement his upper body. Stop whinging, it was a close decsion that could’ve gone either way.
