From ThinkSpain news:

“A court in Madrid has sentenced Manuel Manchado - Mister Universe 2003 - and six others to two-year prison terms for dealing illegally in anabolic steroids.

Manchado ran a gymnasium in the Leganés area of Madrid, an internet shopping site and a store that sold sporting supplements.

All three sold products from Steromax Spain, and in investigations following the arrests members of the Guardia Civil came across over half a million doses of illegal products.

It is also believed that Steromax did not have the necessary permits to sell any sort of drugs, and that, if taken unsupervised, could cause serious health problems.

Magistrates yesterday offered Manchado and four others the possibility of avoiding jail if they paid fines of €5,760 euros.”

Manuel joins other IFBB pros who have served time in prison including Justin Rys, Victor Martinez, Bertil Fox, Craig Titus, Paul DeMayo and others who had brief ’stints’ including Hide Yamigishi and Dennis James.
