Default Newbie - WNBF, INBA or ANB??

Hello

I'm new to competing but struggling to decide which federation I should go with. I'm looking at entering a comp in September so I have a few options but don't really know what the main differences are in the above three (for figure)

Any advice, pro's and con's etc would be great

Thanks!

Hi Pinkie and welcome

Alot can come down to personal preferences, and different people will tell you different things.

Both ANB and INBA are established feds in Australia and pretty well respected. WNBF is far newer to Australia and less established, but is an established fed overseas.

If this is a priority to you, INBA seem IMO to be the tightest of drug testing of the three, I make this statement as since we've been running this site the INBA has issued a number of bans for positive tests...

Also can depend on the area you are in, as alot can depend on the promoter and region...

Another option you have, is to "fed hop" and do more then one show if the timing is right. Test out for yourself type thing...

I am sure someone will come along and give you some more explicit advice on the feds...but I hope that was some small help.

Well that really is a big question and Patricia covered the organisational side of it pretty well. So I'll just say concentrate on yourself and getting into shape first.

Don't worry about which federation right now otherwise that will stress you out and you don't need that when you've got your training, dieting, work etc etc to think about too!

good luck!

The WNBF here in Australia is complete and utter shit!

If you compete with them you can expect a poorly run show with hardly any competitors and no one in the audience.

Their last show attracted 7 competitors for the entire show!!

Of course if you are a person of no integrity and you are after a "paper title" and a free trophy, then by all means have a go with this shitty fed.

Otherwise, do yourself a favour and stick with INBA, ANB, IFBB or NABBA/WFF.
That's about as unbiased and objective as I can be.

For your first show I would just pick a show that has a date that works for you, and not worry about the fed.

For me, there are so few shows close to where I live that I generally have a whopping one show a year to choose from.

Worst thing that can happen is that you dislike the fed, and you move to another. Even a poorly run show can help you get your feet wet.

I agree, first show is a personal thing, just worry about getting in shape and getting up there, whichever you pick.
