Default NZ INBA All Female, this Sat May 23: Cancelled, Lack of Entrants

Lisa from Gofigure just tweeted that the New Zealand INBA All Female Classic which was supposed to be this Sat 23rd May was cancelled last minute as the organiser didn't get enough entrants..

Sucks for the few girls that were training for it to be cancelled a few days prior.

And you display your useless nature again, this is your backyard!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will forgive you this time

No diss on the promoter, as if the competitors won't support/enter a show what can you do? Promoter had no other choice.

However, if I was training for a show and it got canceled this close, I would have a total hysterical fit. No joke, I really would...

I think the promoter wanted to put on this show so that the girls can use it as a leadup to other shows they're doing. We've got the Counties in a week and then NZFBB Akl champs in 4 weeks.

So probably he thought a good idea to put one on before those as they'll be a few competitors in reasonable condition floating around. But alas, I guess the girls are focused on the ones they want to do and don't want to deplete twice and spend extra money on tans perhaps.

Plus this show is only a qualifier for the INBA Women's in Melbourne in July and not sure how many kiwis want to spend more $$ going to Melbourne.

That is terrible - especially for all the girls that have been training for this - it should still go ahead

I kind of sympathise with the promoter on this one.

What are you supposed to do if you can't attract competitors?
At least the show is on near one or two others, so competitors can enter those instead.

Without wanting to be too hard on competitors, they whinge and moan about wanting more shows, more classes and more prizes, but when you go out and do it, none of them turn-up.

Thats two shows that have been cancelled in NZ now.
Sounds like things are tough over there?

This show was cancelled last year too so I don't think they'll be a 3rd go next year. For a small country we have alot of shows and sometimes it comes down to the good old 'word of mouth' as to which shows get more athletes and how much the promoter works on getting the athletes too. If athletes get the buzz about certain shows from other athletes who've done it then they'll probably compete in that. But its catch 22 in this case, you can't get more athletes if the show keeps getting cancelled eh.

Frustrating for everyone, I guess.
Promoters won't promote, if they don't get enough support.
