Default Q&A With IFBB Pro & NABBA World Champion John Terilli

Considered by many to be one of best ever bodybuilders from Australia John Terilli is a two time NABBA Universe Champion and IFBB Olympian with over 30 years experience in the bodybuilding and weight loss fields.

In addition to his onstage success, John has impeccable technical knowledge and is a former personal trainer and owns his own fitness centre in Sydney. Always one to study deeply, John spent an extended time working with a team of medical practitioners in New York to study the effects of food on body composition and body fat cells, as well as ways to accurately measure body fat. John is presently the driving force behind Hardcore Body Renovator, a DVD training system.

In his second ever contest at only age 17, John won the overall Mr. New South Wales competition becoming the youngest person ever to do so, something which still stands to this day. In his second IFBB pro show, John placed second to none other then 8 time Mr Olympia Lee Haney. John went on to win NABBA Universe titles, compete in the prestigious IFBB Olympia, compete and guest pose all over the world, in addition to appearing on over a dozen magazine covers.

John has what most would consider non standard training concepts and is a literal fountain of knowledge and will be available in this thread to answer any training and exercise questions for free..

I would like to know how you get your glutes to look so shredded. I have been down at a low bodyfat before and my glutes did not look like yours. do you do special exercises for your glutes?

Heres a question kinda a different question. Back in Sept I got a severe back injury and I want to get back into bodybuilding. I was told by the docter to have surgery which I can't afford or try and strengthen my core muscles the best I could without reinjurying myself. Any suggestions on how I could do some good core work without hurting myself to severely?

John;

Any advice for us 'ageing' mortgage holders, kids, full-time work who really want to get back onto stage, (a) for the enjoyment of competing again (or first time perhaps) and (b) as a goal to get rid of the 10years of I need a drink and some hot chips because of the stressful day weight!!!

Obviously taking into account lack of finances for supplements, and lack of time for excessive training regimes!

Nice of you to contribute to the forum too, thanks.

What are you trying to achive? How many meals do you have each day? Sweet potatoe and brown rice could be better substitutes, if your worried about the glycimic index of your carbs ,you don't mention Protein! Which would slow down the digestion of all carbs in which case you then can pretty much stick to any of the carbs we have both mentioned, because the fat that naturally occurs in protein will balance the digestion process of all carbs. I hope that helps Otherwise I need to see your whole eating program.

Set yourself some clearly defined goals, and learn 2 very important exercises called time management and organization. And most important don't conform to these issues like other people in your position do. Take action now!!!
