Hi Tim
First of all congrats on your Olympia win in 2008. You are an inspiration to all natural bodybuilders.
My question involves the mental aspect of competitive bodybuilding.
I have only been competing for two years (Masters 40+) and I am happy with my progress to date. My issue is that I have a lot of energy, focus and drive in all aspects related to training, dieting and competing.
Unfortunately a lot of my enthusiasm ends up evolving into wayward training, and overtraining.(eg. I recently ran 10km every day for two weeks before a show to drop bodyfat - you can imagine what that did for my legs

).
My mind often exceeds my bodies capabilities, which occasionally ends in injury.
I also find it very, very hard to have a rest day as I get older.
Have you ever experienced (or heard of) this issue? And, if so what can you recommend I channel my energy toward that will be beneficial to my competitive bodybuilding aspirations.
