Default Posers in the changing room

Why do kids feel they gotta take their shirt off after a workout, puff their chest out, put their arms out to their sides to accomodate their imaginary lats and do several laps around the changing room showing off thier "pump"??

Because they feel good about themselves.
That's one reason why I don't use the change rooms.
There are many others reasons, but that's one.

Thank god I am female, I have never come across this in the changing room.

I have come across some other unpleasantness in changing rooms however

You answered your own question because they are KIDS, hopefully one day they will learn what you can from our sport/art and then the need for this will not be there

Default in the change rooms

They might just be proud of the results they are getting, I used to train a male who was quiet overweight when we started, his wife had left him with nothing while he was at work one day (came home to an empty house....completely empty). Anyway, he lost all his weight and looked pretty decent but it was hard to get him to keep his shirt on..... I guess he had to keep checking that he was actually as lean as he thought he was. I think there is nothing wrong with it if it motivates you and you are not conceded by it....... and you are not doing it in front of people you may offend, lol.

Also, you have to practice posing if you are competing cause you can sure tell who hasn't when they get on stage.

As far as gross stuff in locker rooms goes posing is pretty tame!!

We had to take down the shower curtains in the mens locker rooms due to the things happening behind them

In my day the old impromptu posedown in the change-room mirrors was legendary.

Watching guys practise their poses in the change-rooms always drew a big crowd, it was awesome.
When I started training I found it incredibly motivating to see them close-up and the amount of detail that you couldn't see when they were on stage.

Posing in the change-rooms is a great old tradition that should be encouraged.
It certainly got normal people who trained at the gym interested and going to bodybuilding shows to support their fellow gym members.

They were great old days.
